Data portability describes the ability to transfer personal data from one provider to another one. The topic has recently gained importance by its inclusion in the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR; see below).

By providing services that help users to take their files, emails, contact, calendars and other data from one provider to another, audriga has pioneered the field of data portability since 2011.

While our core focus is on data portability services for the email and groupware industry, we do offer our expertise to service providers from other fields as well.

The data subject shall have the right to receive the personal data concerning him or her, which he or she has provided to a controller, in a structured and commonly used and machine-readable format and have the right to transmit those data to another controller without hindrance from the controller to which the data have been provided, where (..)

Open Provisioning Framework

In order to easily switch providers, service portability includes further process steps beyond the import and export of data. One major aspect, the reading and provisioning of user accounts and their settings is addressed by our Open Provisioning Framework (OPF), based on the SCIM standard.
